LIFE HAPPENINGS

Hispanic Date :)

3:08 PM

At long last, a plan came true :) We had been planning in going back to the Walled City a few months ago. According to the broadsheets I have read, eventually, this would be under Public Private Partnership and they would renovate the place so as to preserve and maintain our cultural heritage. A lot of business tycoons were looking at this project. We decided to visit before the project takes place.

Intramuros was built during the time the Philippines were under the colony of Spain. It was impenetrable. Only the Spanish elite were permitted to live inside the great walls of Intramuros.

As history told, Intramuros was the center of political, military and religious power of Spaniards during those time. It is for this reason that the famous, old & rustic San Agustin Church can be found. Also, Manila Cathedral, Governor's Palace, etc.

On many occasions, this place came under attack and was severely damaged during World War II. Along with the developments nowadays, Intramuros retained it's old Spanish-era, their walls and streets.

Let me show you what we had as we stroll and feelin' old Manila :)

Our Intramuros trip wouldn't be complete without taking a walk inside Fort Santiago where we can see Rizal Shrine and other Rizal's mementos.

Really had fun at this date:) Kahit sumakit na mga daliri ng paa namin kalalakad, it's worth it! :)
